Tracking

Many companies and organizations do not realize that a great deal of money can be saved by implementing more efficient print management. This is often because total print and copy costs can be very difficult to gain an overview of and assess. Paper is purchased by one department, supplies by another, and printers and copiers are often leased or purchased by a third department.

This lack of overview means that companies often fail to prioritize print management when optimizing their business processes. Our experience demonstrates that efficient print management can and does save a lot of money – and that these cost savings are obtained immediately.

SafeCom Tracking provides the data that company managers need to gain an overview of print activities and costs.

How does it work?

SafeCom Tracking saves information about all print jobs such as:

  • Documents printed directly to the printer (Push Print)
  • Documents requiring user identification at the printer (Pull Print)
  • Copies made after user identification at the MFP (Authentication)
  • Scan, e-mail and fax jobs made on selected MFPs (Authentication)  

The tracking database stores information about the job, for example job name, date, size, number of pages, simplex/duplex (both sides of the paper) printing and cost.  

All recorded data can be used for subsequent departmental invoicing (integration with other business systems can be handled with SafeCom Administrator API). In this way, the individual cost centers are charged for their actual use. The SafeCom Reports tool is designed to show tracking data in predefined reports.  

SafeCom Tracking can also run on large Enterprise Server installations tracking the print usage on many different sites.
