APIs
One of the challenges of introducing new IT systems is how to integrate them with the existing IT infrastructure. With a SafeCom solution this is easy to do. In fact our customers often praise our solution for being an open system that easily integrates with other business systems. Our APIs makes it even easier.
SafeCom features two different Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that integrate SafeCom with other business systems. They are optional and can be integrated with both single and multi-server installations.
SafeCom Administrator API
The SafeCom Administrator API is an XML-based tool that allows you to automate tasks and integrate SafeCom with other systems.
The programming interface makes it possible to automate many of the tasks that would otherwise be handled manually through the menus and dialogs of the SafeCom Administrator and SafeCom Cashier.
The administrator can perform tasks such as import users from other databases, manipulate multiple user accounts or extract tracking information.
Batch Print API
The SafeCom Batch Print API can be used for integration with document archiving systems.
Here are some examples of how the Batch Print API can be used:
Automating cheque distribution
A company wants to automate the distribution of cheques to their branch offices via SafeCom. The company’s finance system uses the SCClient to submit the cheques to the SafeCom database.
Retrieving and printing material from an archive system
An educational institution has an archiving system with all its teaching material. Students can access the system via a Web browser and order the material they need. The material is submitted to the SafeCom database and as a result students can print the material at any SafeCom equipped printer.
