Steria Mummert Consulting AG

About the Solution

Objective:

The consulting company Steria Mummert Consulting AG was looking to costeffectively equip itself with efficient and secure printer, photocopier and
scanner facilities.

Approach:

  • The vast majority of the numerous local printers, scanners and photocopiers in the headquarters and the nine other offices were replaced by centrally positioned HP Multifunctional Printers (MFPs).
  • The secure-printing-system from the HP partner company ‘SafeCom’ ensures that the devices’ print, scan, fax, OCR and workflow functions can only be used following authentication by means of the user’s personal building access control card. This fulfils the high security requirements demanded by ISO 27001.
  • These magnetic cards also enable employees to manage print jobs regardless of the system’s location. This means that documents can be sent to print in Hamburg and collected in Munich.

IT improvements:

  • Reduction of the former 85 devices in 24 different models from four manufacturers to 57 devices in seven models from two manufacturers. The devices are arranged as peripherals and are fully integrated into the company network.
  • Consequent reduction in maintenance work as well as a major reduction in the stock of consumables.
  • Options to print in colour or black and white, single or double-sided and on A4 or (with certain models) on A3.
  • Transparency of requirements through evaluations of usage and user satisfaction.
  • Virtually standardised user interfaces and driver environment.

Business benefits:

  • Cost transparency leading to 30 per cent cost savings.
  • High level of system stability, acceptability and employee satisfaction.
  • Mobility and confidentiality are excellently supported.
