Nestlé Purina needed to reduce the number of systems installed while increasing performance security and improving ease of administration.

Approach:

Understanding of print requirement by means of customer assessment.

• HP Managed Print Services (MPS) contract.
• Removal of existing copiers, scanners and fax machines.
• Introduction of HP Multifunction products (MFPs) and SafeCom secure printing systems.
• Introduction of HP Web Jetadmin for maintenance, monitoring and control, and for training key users.

IT improvements:

• Considerably improved overall performance compared to previous systems.
• The best possible data security thanks to SafeCom software.
• Simplification of maintenance work and comprehensive control of connected printers using the HP Web Jetadmin interface.

Business benefits:

• Halved the number of units in use which considerably reduces energy costs.
• Unauthorised colour printing is blocked by issuing appropriate permissions in HP Web Jetadmin.
• Reduced backlogs in the A3 colour MFP output tray by allowing printing only after authentication from SafeCom.
• Printing costs exclusively charged based on actual consumables required through the HP MPS contract resulting in approx 30 to 40 per cent savings.
