IT-University Denmark
At the IT University in Copenhagen, people are happy about the rare combination of a more user-friendly system and elimination of waste. A flexible and economic solution
“It has removed the waste, and now instead of huge rubbish bins spilling over with discarded paper, we can get by with a little waste paper basket,” says facility manager Søren Nedergaard. He also expects a huge savings with more efficient use of paper and ink cartridges.
Printing is always where you need it
“We are really happy about the flexibility of our new system. If there is a wait at a printer, you just go on to the next one. If you’re on your way to a meeting, just send your printing off and pick it up at the nearest printer when you get there,” says special consultant Niels Hallenberg from the IT department of ITU.
Convenient and economical
Previously, ITU had a mixed fleet of old photocopy machines, large network printers for students and stand-alone printers for the staff. It meant there were a vast number of service agreements, a huge stock of different ink cartridges and toners, and chaos at the most popular printers in the high season.
Therefore ITU has chosen a solution with fewer, bigger and more robust multi-function machines and the implementation of SafeCom’s server solution. It has brought many economies of scale – and the users are happy with the flexibility it affords.
“ ..... and nobody misses the social life of waiting in line at the copier at all,” concludes Niels Hallenberg.
